Overview

Indian Railways has notified a separate Station Master recruitment from 2026 onwards under Centralised Employment Notice (CEN) No. 08/2026 (not bundled with NTPC Graduate CEN 06/2026).

Total 1,265 Station Master vacancies across all RRBs (Corrigendum No. 1 dated 27.10.2026 corrected the summary table from 1,215 to 1,265); zone-wise break-up in Annexure-B.

Online applications: 27.10.2026 to 25.11.2026 (23:59). Fee payment for submitted applications till 27.11.2026. Modification window: 28.11.2026 to 07.12.2026 (₹250 per change; account details and chosen RRB cannot be changed).

Apply to exactly one RRB only; multiple RRB applications lead to rejection of all applications.

Selection: single-stage CBT → CBAT (aptitude) → document verification → medical examination; combined merit for DV uses 70% CBT + 30% CBAT (CBAT pass mandatory).

Exam fee: ₹500 for most candidates (₹400 refunded after appearing in CBT, net ₹100); concessional ₹250 for Female/Transgender/Ex-SM/SC/ST/Minority/EBC (₹250 refunded after CBT where applicable).

Eligibility

Indian nationality (or eligible categories with certificate at DV as per Para 7).

Age 20–33 years (as on 01.01.2027) with category relaxations where applicable.

Graduate degree or equivalent from recognised university as on 25.11.2026.

Medical standard A-2; eye/medical certificates required for CBAT as per notification (Annexure VI/VI A).

Reservation for SC/ST/OBC-NCL/EWS/Ex-Servicemen as per vacancy table and CEN.

Create account or use existing RRB account from earlier CENs; choose one RRB and zone preferences per Annexure-B.

Upload photo, signature and documents; complete live photo capture if prompted.

Pay examination fee online by 27.11.2026 for submitted applications.

Submit before 25.11.2026 23:59; use modification window only for allowed fields (28.11–07.12.2026).

Selection process

Single-stage Computer Based Test (CBT).

Shortlisting for Computer Based Aptitude Test (CBAT) up to 8× RRB-wise vacancies (merit in CBT).

CBAT pass mandatory; medical certificate (Annexure VI / VI A) required at CBAT.

Document verification at 1:1 of vacancies (RRB-wise) on combined merit: 70% CBT + 30% CBAT.

Medical examination; empanelment as per RRB merit and reservation rules.
