Privacy Policy
Your photo is yours. BharatEdit is built so your identity documents never need to leave your phone or laptop.
1. Who we are
BharatEdit (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates the website bharatedit.com and related tools that help users create government-compliant ID and exam photos for India.
This Privacy Policy explains what happens to your information when you use BharatEdit. If anything here is unclear, contact us at [email protected].
2. Our core promise
BharatEdit processes your photos entirely in your web browser on your own device. We do not operate a photo-upload server. We do not receive, store, or have access to the images you edit.
When you close the tab or leave the site, your working photo data is cleared from the active session. We cannot recover your photo because we never had it.
3. Information we do not collect
We do not collect or store:
- Photographs, selfies, or biometric data from your uploads
- Aadhaar, passport, PAN, or other identity numbers
- User accounts, passwords, or payment details (the service is free)
- Contacts, location, or device identifiers for advertising profiles
4. What stays on your device
To make the tools work offline on repeat visits, your browser may save technical files locally:
- Image-processing model files (downloaded once, then cached by your browser)
- Your language preference (English / Hindi), stored in browser local storage
- Progressive Web App (PWA) assets if you install BharatEdit to your home screen
5. Information processed locally
When you use features such as background removal or face alignment, calculations run on your device using open web technologies (including WebAssembly and on-device vision models).
This local processing is necessary to deliver the service. It is not sent to BharatEdit servers for analysis or training.
6. Third-party services
We keep third-party dependencies minimal. Your browser may contact:
- Content delivery networks (CDNs) to download open-source image-processing model files
- Google Fonts to load typefaces used on the site (Hind and Poppins)
7. Children
BharatEdit is a general-purpose photo utility. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child has contacted us with personal data, email [email protected] and we will assist.
8. Your rights (India)
Under applicable Indian law, including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act), you have rights regarding personal data held by data fiduciaries.
Because BharatEdit does not collect or store your photos or create user accounts, most requests will relate to information you voluntarily send us by email. We will respond to legitimate requests within a reasonable time.
9. Security
The strongest privacy control we offer is architectural: your photos never travel to us. Please also protect your own device with a screen lock and avoid editing sensitive documents on shared or public computers.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when our practices or legal requirements change. The “Last updated” date at the top will change accordingly. Continued use of BharatEdit after an update means you accept the revised policy.
